New United Nations Office for Disaster Risk Reduction Report

Thursday, April 25, 2013

Following UN General Assembly Resolution 67/209, the UN Office for Disaster Risk Reduction (UNISDR) was requested to facilitate the development of a post-2015 framework for disaster risk reduction (referred to as Hyogo Framework for Action 2, or HFA2). Since the consultative process was launched in March 2012, governments and a wide-range of stakeholders have carried out targeted consultations at global, regional, national, and local levels, and have communicated their views through the National HFA Monitor, online dialogues, and other mechanisms.

This synthesis report provides an overview of the issues emerging to date. It also provides a basis for continued consultations, including at the Fourth Session of the Global Platform for Disaster Risk Reduction, which will be held from 19-23 May in Geneva.

The report is available online.
