The National Crime Prevention Council (NCPC), whose mascot is McGruff the Crime Dog, has announced a new partnership with both the Department of Homeland Security and the Federal Bureau of Investigation which is designed to emphasize the importance of cybersafety. The NCPC President and CEO Ann M Harkins, in a speech highlighted the increasing importance of crime prevention partnerships at a time of increasing law enforcement budget cuts. The NCPC will also join the Department of Homeland Security’s Stop. Think. Connect Campaign’s National Network. One goal will be to promote cyber security awareness to millions of Americans and their neighborhoods via new tools and resources bout emerging online threats and the importance of adopting safer online practices.
