Global Platform Market Place

The Global Platform Market Place is a central display area at the conference center and will provide booth space to showcase new and innovative ideas for disaster risk reduction.

Applications will be judged on their originality and applicability to current and future DRR efforts, as well as the originality of the proposed interaction and display. Preference will be given to applications which represent thematic or regional partnerships.

Applications will be accepted until December 28, 2012. 

IGNITE Stage

The IGNITE Stage is a special venue where Global Platform participants are allowed 15 minutes to present a disaster risk reduction topic, project, or initiative. Its aim is to widen the array of topics that are discussed at the Global Platform beyond those that are presented in the main sessions and events.

Applications will be accepted until December 28, 2012. Presentations will be judged on their originality and applicability to current and future DRR efforts and accepted speakers will be notified on February 15, 2013.

Talks should be classified into one of the following categories:

- DRR success stories

- Public-Private partnerships

- Local action and urban DRR

- Innovation and new knowledge

- Award winning projects

- Collaborative efforts and social solutions

- Lessons learned and mistakes made

- DRR after 2015
