27 November 2001 - The Texas Homeland Security Task force conducted the latest in a series of meetings on various homeland security issues. Subjects discussed include cybersecurity and communications, energy and utilities protection and testimony from the various response agencies.

09 November 2001 - Gov. Rick Perry today authorized the deployment of 133 additional members of the Texas National Guard to provide further security at Texas airports. Perry took the action after President George W. Bush announced today that supplemental members of the National Guard are needed to perform security functions at 720 checkpoints in the country's 420 commercial airports. [view press release]
02 October 2001 - Dewhurst to lead Texas Homeland Security -- Texas Land Commissioner David Dewhurst will lead a 21-member state Task Force on Homeland Security, which includes Texas A&M Regent Anne L. Armstrong, a Kenedy County resident and former ambassador to Great Britain, and Corpus Christi attorney Colleen McHugh, chairwoman of the Texas Public Safety Commission.
